NOVA.ID.FCT hosts the XLVI Dynamics Days Europe 2026 in Lisbon

From 19 to 24 July, Lisbon welcomed the 46th edition of Dynamics Days Europe (DDE 2026), a leading international conference on dynamical systems, jointly organized by NOVA FCT and BCAM (Basque Center for Applied Mathematics), with the support of NOVA.ID.FCT.

The Rectorate of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Colégio Almada Negreiros, close to Praça de Espanha, hosted this edition of DDE, a conference series that has, since the 1980s, brought together researchers from physics, mathematics, biology and engineering around the theory and applications of nonlinear dynamics.

Over six days, the programme featured plenary talks by internationally renowned researchers, minisymposia proposed by participants themselves, and sessions of contributed talks and posters, covering fields as diverse as astrophysics, biophysics, complex systems and networks, machine learning, statistical physics, fluid and solid mechanics, epidemics, econophysics and stochastic systems, among many others.

The conference also recognized early-career researchers (PhD students and postdoctoral fellows) through the Best Poster Awards, celebrating the scientific value of the work presented.

With participants joining from around the world, DDE 2026 confirmed itself as a key meeting point for the international nonlinear dynamics community, reinforcing the ties between Portugal and Spain in promoting scientific excellence.

NOVA.ID.FCT thanks all participants, speakers, and members of the organizing and scientific committees who made this event possible, and already looks forward to the next edition of Dynamics Days Europe.
