Abstract: 

The generation of energy is one of the most important scientific and technological challenges of the modern world. The energy production is still mainly based in fossil fuels, which are not sustainable at long term and have strong environmental impact. (…)In the frame of the mission of our investigation institution, REQUIMTE a laboratory for the Green Chemistry, our approach will focus in two main vectors: i) dyes based on flavylium derivatives, a family of compounds which comprise anthocyanins, the dyes responsible for most of the red and blue colors of flowers and fruits, ii) electrolytes based on polymers or ionic liquids.
